Peer-to-Peer Sync

Hamsterbase supports peer-to-peer synchronization, allowing you to sync data between two devices without using cloud services.

Follow these three simple steps:

  1. Install Hamsterbase on both devices (Device A and Device B) connected to the same local network.
  2. On Device A, start the server and create an API key.
  3. On Device B, enter Device A’s IP address and API key.

Starting the Server

Starting the server is straightforward. Refer to this document for detailed instructions.

Once completed, you will obtain the Entrypoint and API token.

Configuring the Remote Device

Desktop Version

Follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click on the Remotes tab.
  3. Click the plus icon.
  4. Enter the Entrypoint and API token in the respective fields (positions 4 and 5 in the image).
  5. Click Save.

Mobile Version

  1. Open the Settings page.
  2. Click Sync to access the sync settings page.
  3. Click Add Server to enter the add server page.
  4. Enter Name, Entrypoint, and API token. You can differentiate servers by using unique names.
  5. Click Add to save.
